Z PROTOTYPING MODELS
CAN BE USED FOR:
|
 |
Massing Models for Concept Development
- 3D Print directly from CAD data
- Produce models quickly and inexpensively
|
 |
Design Study of Critical Elements
- Fabricate complex surfaces and geometries
- Communicate high definition detail and surface
finish
|
 |
High Definition Color Presentation Models
- Combine models with other elements to achieve
desired effect
- Produce multiples easily, quickly and inexpensively

The Challenge
From the very first concept development meeting, clients visualizes,
learns, and communicates in 3D. Whenever possible, they use physical
models to explore concepts and communicate their vision to clients.
Clients have found hand-made model-making techniques to be constraining
for two reasons: the time required to make the model is too lengthy,
and the process required to extract the necessary data from the computer
file for the model makers takes valuable time away from the design
team.
The Solution
Z
Prototyping because of its high speed, relatively low
operating cost, and geometrical capability. Clients have found
the main benefits of the Z Prototyping:
An increased ability to focus on specific customer needs and
concerns
On a recent project, tailored studies of the elements of the building
that were considered most important to the decision-makers.
The ability to create multiple models at reasonable cost
For certain projects it is an advantage to be able to print multiple copies
of the model to share with different client and end user constituencies. Z
Prototyping allows the production of multiple parts with minimal effort.
The ability to create reproducible models
In the case where several elements of a specific area of the design change, any
one particular section can be reprinted in a matter of hours.
The Result
Z Prototyping has become a key part of our creative process. The
combination of rapid modeling and collaborative approach gives us a real advantage
in meeting the needs and expectations of our clients, consultants, and ourselves.

Z Prototyping offers several material systems to satisfy a variety
of modeling needs. The different material options allow users to customize
the material properties for each application.
